Prep for the B1/DSD I exam (25/26 school year enrollment)
CLASS DESCRIPTION
This class is for students at the A2/B1 levels in preparation for the Deutsches Sprachdiplom I (DSD I) or Goethe B1 exam and is geared towards rising 8th graders and older. The main focus will be a tailored and thorough preparation for the DSD I exam at TCGIS, or for non-TCGIS students, the equivalent B1 exam at the GAI. While we explicitly prepare for these exams, students are not required to take the examination.
The class will focus on written communication, common grammar problems, and expanding vocabulary. The other three parts of the exam: listening comprehension, reading comprehension, and oral communication will also be practiced, but to a lesser extent.
MEETING TIMES
Classes meet at the GAI Haus (301 Summit Ave) once a week from September through January with breaks for MEA, Thanksgiving and Winter Break. Between onsite sessions, students complete and turn in homework on a weekly basis using a (virtual) Google classroom.
In the event of severe weather, illness of the teacher or other unforeseen circumstances, the live class may need to be offered online on rare occasions.

REQUIREMENTS
- All students need to present a recently taken and passed A2 German exam ( Goethe, IVA2, etc),
- Commitment to dedicate a minimum of one hour per week for homework. Students will be expected to turn in their completed homework on time through Google classroom. Repeated failure to submit homework may result in unenrollment (tuition will not be reimbursed).
