Description

Structurally:

This mini-course is designed for German learners who have completed or are completing the A2.1 level and want to review and strengthen their German before moving on to A2.2. Over the course, students will review key vocabulary and grammatical structures covered in A2.1 while practicing German in the context of everyday life. Grammar topics will include cases, the perfect tense, modal verbs, and word order. The course provides an additional foundation for continued language development at the A2.2 level.

Functionally:

Students will use German to communicate about a variety of familiar, everyday topics. Through guided practice, review activities, conversation, and interactive exercises, students will review how to talk about basic health, celebrations, work, free-time activities, and daily routines. Students will also practice expressing opinions and discussing future plans. The course will reinforce essential vocabulary and grammar while giving students opportunities to apply what they have learned in practical communication.

Objectives:

At the end of the course, students will have reviewed and consolidated the key vocabulary and grammatical structures from A2.1. They will be able to use cases, the perfect tense, modal verbs, and appropriate word order with greater confidence. Students will be able to communicate about everyday routines, health, celebrations, work, and free-time activities, express their opinions, and discuss future plans. Upon completion, students will have completed the A2.1 level and be prepared to continue into A2.2.
