The Germanic-American Institute (GAI) is excited to offer two new online A1.1 (beginner) German courses! Both course levels are the same, however the time of the lesson is different. Please select your desired time (above) to register for the class.
Course Description:
Designed for complete beginners of the German language, this course will provide students with an introduction to the sounds and structure of the German language. Students will learn the German alphabet, numbers and counting, phonetics, how to introduce themselves, and how to make simple statements. If you are eager to kick off your journey to proficiency in German, this is the course for you!
Course Objectives:
At the end of A1.1 participants will be able to introduce themselves as well as others and ask for or offer basic information about themselves and others. Students will have received an introduction to the sound system in German and talk about things in their immediate environment.
Dates, Location, & Time:
This is an online class that will meet for 12 weeks on Thursday mornings on Zoom (please choose the time you would like above). Each class meeting is 60-minutes in length. You have the choice of either 10:00am-11:00am or 11:15am-12:15pm
Cancellations/Reschedules:
If a planned class session needs to be rescheduled or cancelled, the instructor must be notified at least 24-hours in advance and the entire group must agree to a new day/time that also works for the instructor. There will be 12 x 60-minute sessions in total.
Class Communications:
Course instructor will send participants the course Zoom link a few days prior to the start date. Students may receive email communications from instructor via this registration system called "Jumbula" (please check spam folders) OR directly from the instructor (instructor has an @gaimn.org email address).
Textbooks:
Textbooks will be shipped directly to TURCK. Please make sure to add the textbook option to your cart during registration.
Maximum Participants:
A maximum of 10 students may participate in this online class, in order to receive maximum quality of sessions.
