B1 Level Review: German for Busy Adults (ONLINE ~ Tues. PM)

Course Objective:

This course is designed for busy adults who are at a B1.3/B1+ (B2.1 maximum) level and are in need of practical review. Students find that before moving up to the B2 level, it is worthwhile for them to review all that they have learned in the B1 level. Therefore, the GAI in collaboration with current participants, have designed a course to fit the needs of our busy students' schedules and move at a less intensive pace as our normal courses. The goal of this course is to focus on real production of the language, while also reviewing the content in a typical B-Level course. 10 out of the 12 meeting dates will be online, and 2 will be in-person at a location to be yet determined (students & teacher to decide).

Course Description: German for Busy Adults: B-Level Review

This course uses a modular structure. In each module we’ll read, watch, and discuss a variety of texts and media, while focusing on specific situational language goals. The course objective is to review, practice, and strengthen knowledge and application of B level material in preparation for C-level courses. You will practice all four skills — speaking, reading, listening, and writing — and incorporate B-level grammar topics into these four skills. 

Course Dates, Times & Location:

This is an online course that meets once a week, for 12 weeks on Tuesday evenings from 6:30pm to 8:30pm. Two of the 12 course dates will be in person (exact dates to be determined). Additionally, the instructor will offer a weekly "office hour" (30 min) for homework questions and review. The course instructor will decide on a day/time to offer the 30-minute office hour and communicate day/time of week with all registered course participants. 

Textbooks:

There is no textbook; instructor will provide materials.

Minimum Enrollment:

If there are too few students registered to run a class section, the Director of Language Education will contact the student(s) in the week prior to the term’s start date to discuss other class options.
