A2 Level Review (in-person ~Tues. AM)

Course Description:

 This A2 Level Review is aimed at students who have completed the A2 level series (A2.1, A2.2, A2.3) and maybe feel that they need a bit more review of common grammar concepts, speaking, and writing at the A2 level, before moving on to the B1 level. It is quite common for students to do review courses before moving onto B1 topics, so the GAI is offering this as a bridge to cover any gaps that might be missing from the beginner levels. 

Course Objectives:

Generally, at the end of the A2 level, students will be able to talk about their personal and professional lives. Beyond descriptions, they will be able to express wishes and understand simple conversations. They will be able to understand detailed descriptions of vacation stays. They can recognize stereotypes and prejudices and react in culturally appropriate ways when meeting strangers. They can open a bank account and deal with financial situations.

Course Dates, Location & Time:

This is an in-person class that meets for 12 weeks on Tuesday mornings from 9:30am - 12:30pm at the GAI (301 Summit Ave., St. Paul, MN). Additionally, the instructor will offer a weekly "office hour" (30 min) for homework questions and review. The course instructor will decide on a day/time to offer the 30-minute office hour and communicate day/time of week with all registered course participants.

Schritte International NEU 3+4 - We will be using for review of concepts in the A2 Level (Kursbuch & Arbeitsbuch):

Schritte NEU Grammatik A1-B1 - We will be using for grammar practice and homework exercises

• If you have taken an A2-level course with us at the GAI, we will revisit topics in the Schritte International NEU 3+4 Kursbuch & Arbeitsbuch. We also have the Schritte NEU Grammatik A1-B1 (grammar concepts) book that is very helpful for many students. 

• Order Deadline: Please note that the cutoff to order textbooks from the GAI will be 12/01/2025 in order to receive your books in time. Book orders placed after 12/01/2025 aren't guaranteed to be available by the start date, so we highly encourage participants to order textbooks during the initial registration.**

• Textbook Pickup: Books ordered before 12/01/2025 will be available for pick up approximately one week prior to the first class session. Please be sure to check your email for updates about book pickup dates. 
  

• Shipping: If you live outside of the greater Minneapolis/St. Paul metro area and/or cannot pick up your books onsite at the GAI, you will need to select the shipping option at checkout. A $12.00 shipping & handling fee applies.

Minimum Enrollment: 

If there are too few students registered to run a class section, the Director of Language Education will contact the student(s) in the week prior to the term’s start date to discuss other class options.
