B1.1 (in person ~Thurs. AM)

B1.1 is the first course in the beginner intermediate level. It focuses on improving communication skills, expanding vocabulary, and mastering grammar through practical topics and activities. Students will learn to compare experiences, express doubt and confidence, assess personal strengths, present ideas effectively, evaluate options, critically analyze situations, share travel experiences, and engage in discussions by agreeing, disagreeing, and managing interruptions. Key grammar topics include connectors (als, wenn, darum, daher, deswegen, deshalb, denn, weil, damit, um … zu, obwohl, trotzdem), Konjunktiv II, adjective declension, and infinitive with zu.

At the end of B1.1, students will be able to narrate personal experiences and memories, express doubts and optimism, and evaluate their own strengths. They will be able to deliver structured presentations, summarize conversations, and provide evaluations. Students will confidently share travel experiences, participate in discussions by agreeing or disagreeing, and maintain conversational flow.
