- Structurally: A1.3 concludes the Beginner German sequence. Students will consolidate the grammatical structures introduced throughout the A1 level and expand their ability to communicate in a variety of everyday situations. They will further develop their use of the perfect tense, modal verbs, and sentence structure, while learning to express opinions, make comparisons, give reasons, and talk about future plans using simple constructions.
- Functionally: Students will continue to develop their ability to communicate about everyday life with increasing confidence. They will discuss topics such as travel, health, celebrations, work, leisure activities, and everyday experiences. Students will reinforce and expand their vocabulary through additional theme-based units and continue to strengthen their listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills.
- Objectives: At the end of A1.3, students will be able to participate in short conversations on familiar topics, describe people, places, and past experiences, make plans and arrangements, express opinions and preferences with simple explanations, and write short, connected texts such as messages, emails, and descriptions. Students will have completed the A1 level and will be prepared to continue to A2.
