- Structurally: A1.2 builds on the foundations established in A1.1. Students will reinforce their use of articles, present-tense verb conjugation, and sentence word order while expanding their knowledge of the German case system, modal verbs, separable-prefix verbs, and the perfect tense. They will also learn to express location and direction, describe events in the past, and connect ideas using simple conjunctions.
- Functionally: Students will expand their ability to communicate in everyday situations. They will learn to describe their home and surroundings, make appointments, ask for and give directions, discuss food and shopping, talk about transportation and travel, and describe daily routines and leisure activities. Vocabulary will continue to grow through the thematic units of Momente 1 (Hueber).
- Objectives: At the end of A1.2, students will be able to describe their living environment, ask for and provide simple information, make appointments, talk about past events using the perfect tense, express preferences and opinions in familiar contexts, and participate in short conversations about everyday topics with greater confidence.
