Structurally: A2.3 concludes the Advanced Beginner German sequence. Students will consolidate and expand the grammatical structures introduced throughout the A2 level. They will continue to refine their use of adjective endings, subordinate clauses, prepositions, and the perfect and simple past tenses while gaining confidence in producing longer and more connected sentences.
Functionally: Students will continue to strengthen their ability to communicate in a wide range of everyday situations. They will discuss topics such as work, education, travel, health, and future plans while expanding their vocabulary and improving their listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills. Emphasis will be placed on expressing opinions, giving reasons, describing experiences, and participating in longer conversations.
Objectives: At the end of A2.3, students will be able to communicate with greater confidence in familiar situations, describe experiences and future plans in detail, express opinions and preferences with simple explanations, and understand the main ideas of straightforward spoken and written texts. They will be able to write clear personal messages and short connected texts and participate in sustained conversations on everyday topics. Upon successful completion of A2.3, students will be prepared to begin the B1 level.
