Spaß in der Grundstufe (Continued) - (in-person) - Tues. AM

Course Objectives:

This course is a continuation of our “Spaß in der Grundstufe” course from last semester (Jan. – March 2025). Students will continue to practice structures they have learned so far and expand their knowledge. There will continue to be a review of A1 structures/grammar/etc. during this spring semester course. Furthermore, students will add reflexive verbs, verbs with prepositions and modal verbs in the past tense. By adding subordinate clauses starting with "weil", "wenn", "dass", and "als", sentences will become increasingly complex. Students will study two-way prepositions and comparative and superlative forms.

If you would like to continue learning and practicing German in a relaxed, fun, supportive environment, would like some review, and are within the A2 German level, this is the course for you!

Course Dates & Times:

This is an in-person class that meets for 12 weeks on Tuesday mornings from 9:00AM to 12:00-noon at the GAI (301 Summit Ave., St. Paul, MN). Of the 2.5 hours listed for this class, 30 minutes is dedicated as an "office hour" where students are encouraged to ask questions about homework, review/clarify lesson materials, etc. This already is built in to the course time/length and price.

Please note: This course will start one week earlier (on 4/1) than all our other Spring Semester courses. There will be NO CLASS on Tuesday, April 15, 2025. However, the course will still be 12 weeks in total, and the last day will be Tuesday, June 24th.

• If you took the previous “Spaß in der Grundstufe” course from last semester or our standard A2.1 course with us in the past 2 years, you will not need to purchase any books. This course will cover chapters 5 – 10 (approximately, depending on speed/needs of class).
  

• Cost: $75 for the set, available for purchase directly from the GAI by adding the textbook option to your cart.
  

• Shipping: If you live outside of the greater Minneapolis/St. Paul metro area and cannot pick up your books at the GAI, or if you are taking an online class and need them shipped to you, you will need to select the shipping option at checkout as well. A $10.00 shipping & handling fee applies.

• Pickup/Shipping: Please note that the cutoff to order textbooks from the GAI will be March 16, 2025 in order to receive a textbook on time. Book orders or course registrations after March 16th will be available on the first day of class.
