Course Description:

This is part 2 out of 3 in our "Das Spiel mit Worten" series. This 12-week course will strengthen and broaden your B2+/C1 level vocabulary range and prepare you for C-level coursework and exams. The book we will be using, covers 13 various thematic areas and we will work on numerous exercises.

This semester, we will focus on chapters 5 through 8 depending on the class pace. Class time will be devoted to oral and written activities in those subject areas. The course is thematically based, with emphasis on vocabulary fields. Grammar will be briefly reviewed as we encounter certain structures during our activities. The goal is to improve your advanced level vocabulary and communication skills, and prepare students for more advanced and complex language challenges.

Learn in a fun and relaxed online environment that focuses on communication and teaches important language skills for everyday life and contemporary professional aspects.

Course Dates, Location & Time:

This is an ONLINE class that meets for 12 weeks on Wednesday evenings from 6:30pm - 8:30pm. Additionally, the instructor will offer a weekly "office hour" (30 min) for homework questions and review. The course instructor will decide on a day/time to offer the 30-minute office hour and communicate day/time of week with all registered course participants.

Link to Zoom classroom will be sent by the instructor approximately 72 hours before the start of the first class date.

• If you took the previous “Das Spiel mit Worten” course with us last semester, you will not need to purchase a book. This course will continue in the same book and covers Chapters 5 – 8 (depending on class needs and speed).
• Cost: $22.50 - Textbook is available for purchase directly from the GAI by adding the textbook option to your cart.
• Shipping: If you live outside of the greater Minneapolis/St. Paul metro area and cannot pick up your books at the GAI, or if you are taking an online class and need them shipped to you, you will need to select the shipping option at checkout as well. A $10.00 shipping & handling fee applies.
• Pickup: The textbook for this class will be available for pickup (or shipping) one week before the first day of class. ***Please note: The cutoff to order textbooks from the GAI will be March 16, 2025 in order to receive a textbook on time. Book orders placed after March 16th will be available on the first day of class. If you did not order a textbook through the GAI, you will not see a $75 textbook charge in your confirmation email.
