Course Description:
A2.3 is the last course in the Advanced Beginners sequence here at the GAI. Students will continue to practice structures they have learned so far and expand their knowledge regarding questions by studying additional question words and ways to express questions. Students will learn different subordinate clauses and study the subjunctive. Students will focus about speaking and writing about the past. We will continue to expand vocabulary and their structures to talk about topics of personal interest, and we will learn how to to express complaints or apologize.
Course Objectives:
At the end of A2.3, students will be able to talk about their personal and professional lives. Beyond descriptions, they will be able to express wishes and understand simple conversations. They will be able to understand detailed descriptions of vacation stays. They can recognize stereotypes and prejudices and react in culturally appropriate ways when meeting strangers. They can open a bank account and deal with financial situations.
Course Dates, Location & Time:
This is an in-person class that meets for 12 weeks on Tuesday evenings, from 6:30 - 8:30pm. Additionally, the instructor will offer a weekly "office hour" (30 min) for homework questions and review. The course instructor will decide on a day/time to offer the 30-minute office hour and communicate day/time of week with all registered course participants.
